What is a Root Canal?

Bridgewater Dental Centre offers clients affordable dental care by treating severely decayed and infected teeth with a root canal.

When tooth decay is left untreated it can affect the pulp of the tooth and cause an infection. If inflammation is left untreated, it can cause pain or lead to an abscess.

During a root canal, the inflamed or infected pulp is removed and the inside of the tooth is carefully cleaned, disinfected, and then filled and sealed with a tooth colored filling. After restoration, the tooth continues to function like any other tooth.

Our Commitment to You

Often, dentists have a hard time effectively cleaning and disinfecting the inside of the tooth canals. If a root canal is not fully completed, remaining bacteria and infection can lead to further inflammation and increased risk of developing an abscess.

At Bridgewater Dental Centre we believe that our clients deserve the safest, most effective dental treatment available. We utilize the latest techniques and products to ensure the internal portion of the root is fully cleaned.  We use special cleaning irrigants and sonic cleaning devices to remove all debris from the inside of the nerve chamber.

How much does a Root Canal Cost?

At Bridgewater Dental Centre we are proud to follow the standard pricing of the Nova Scotia Fee Guide. That means that we do not charge a single penny more than the standard pricing, especially for treatments like root canals. Additionally, all of our root canals are treated with the newest, laser root canal technology. You get high quality dental treatment on the South Shore at standard costs and charges.
